Square Dancing’s Traditional Roots. A traditional dance group in Helena Montana notes that Square dancing has a rich history in the US with ties to European dances in the 15th-18th centuries.

“It is most likely a marriage of the various forms of folk dances that came over with people when they moved across the ocean.”

No wonder that many German immigrants found it appealing.

On Saturday, April 13th, we will host our first square dance starting at 8:00 p.m. in the Sängerhalle. You need not be an experienced square dancer. Caller Jim Yoest will explain the different steps to beginners.

Admission will be only $5.00/person. Come and join us! For more information/reservations, email Jackie Dorfner or call 412-257-7574.
