The Pittsburgh District Kinderchor is the forum where children first experience choral singing. These children are the future of the Teutonia. If the German choral tradition is to continue, we have to provide an environment to encourage singing. We want children to enjoy singing and learning songs in German.
The Spring Concert is the opportunity for our children to display what they have learned over the last couple of months. We have a group of young adults - the Jugendchor - who have sung together as friends in the Kinderchor and have brought their efforts to a higher level. They will be presenting their program.
Our goal is not just teaching the children German songs, but also to provide a social place to build friendships between the children and the parents of the children.
We are fortunate that we have a significant number of German speaking members to give other members the opportunity to practice the language and learn about German culture.
